Life at Arnold & Baldwin HQ

Learn more about the day to day at Arnold & Baldwin

Our team is what makes Arnold & Baldwin such a fantastic success, so providing a working environment which allows us to attract and retain top talent is very important. With this in mind, we purchased a vacant new shell of a building, obtained planning permission and built a brand new HQ in 2017. It is amazing! Modern finishes create a warehouse lofty feel, with a large board room, meeting rooms, games room, cycle store and a full working kitchen for everyone to enjoy the free breakfast and fresh fruit available throughout the day.

Not only is the building a great environment to work in, but it is also fantastic for the environment! Joe Arnold (Managing Director) explains,

“The property has been designed to run purely on electricity supplied by www.ecotricity.co.uk who use 100% renewable energy and are Britain’s greenest energy provider. It was important to ensure the building was as close to carbon neutral as possible. I recently found out the provider is also Vegan! I hadn’t appreciated animals were involved in the creation of energy by other suppliers, so it’s really important that we partner with suppliers who operate ethically.”

Outside the office is a tree lined walkway along the River Wandle into Wandle Park, a 4 hectare £3.5m Heritage Lottery funded project with Barratt Homes. The Croydon Tram is located here, linking into East Croydon British Rail Station. Door to door travel to London Bridge and London Victoria is approximately 25 minutes on a good run! The infrastructure around us is a brilliant.

Being positioned in the Purley Way area, large out of town retailers such as John Lewis Home, TK Maxx, Currys, Argos, Sainsbury’s, etc, make it a very convenient location for lunch time shopping, or to do the weekly shop at Sainsbury’s or Asda on the way home. The tram also drops off near Wagamama and Box Park in Croydon, or heads into Wimbledon in the other direction if you enjoy tennis.

The HQ really is located in a fantastic position and benefits us all, improving the quality of life of the team here at Arnold & Baldwin.
