Alex brings a distinctive career journey to Arnold & Baldwin’s Surveying Team, having originally entered the property profession as an Estate Agent before discovering his passion for the technical aspects of surveying. He undertook his Masters alongside professional training whilst working within a large Scottish surveying firm in Edinburgh, developing comprehensive expertise before returning to the South of England where he now specialises in Level 2 HomeBuyer Reports, Level 3 Building Surveys, and residential valuation work. Qualified with a BA, BSc (Hons), MSc, and MRICS chartered status, Alex combines academic excellence with practical experience gained over five years post-qualification and two years of training.

Based in the South, Alex’s active lifestyle reflects the energy and thoroughness he brings to property inspections. His interests in Jiu Jitsu, rock climbing, exercise, and outdoor pursuits demand the same attention to detail, physical awareness, and problem-solving skills he applies when assessing building defects and construction quality. Whether conducting detailed surveys for family buyers or providing expert valuations for lending institutions, Alex’s transition from estate agency to technical surveying gives him unique insight into both market dynamics and the critical importance of thorough property assessment.
